My name is Erin McCloskey and I am the designer behind Pear & Peacock. I carefully create each piece of jewelry in my Virginia studio. I specialize in beautiful, everyday pieces that have been described as sweet and delicate. I began making jewelry in 2009 and quickly fell in love with the process. Over the next few years I continued teaching myself new techniques and in 2012 I studied at the Revere Academy in San Francisco, CA.

My love affair with jewelry began with the antique costume jewelry borrowed from my grandmother’s jewelry box. I used to pair this one rhinestone encrusted floral choker with just about everything, it was a beautiful piece and I wore it all the time. Although my aesthetic has grown over the years I am still find inspiration in vintage fashion and nature when sketching my designs.

About the material- Being kind to the earth, animals and people are important considerations in everything I do, especially with my work. I use 100% recycled Harmony Metals and ethically sourced diamonds and gems in my designs. My packaging, labels and business cards are created using primarily recycled materials with vegetable or soy-based inks.

Why wear Pear & Peacock? I believe wearing jewelry is not just about making a trendy fashion statement but about inspiring confidence and making you smile. It should make you feel good. That feeling might be from just the beauty of the piece or it might be from a memory it helps you recall. A ring can remind you of your spouse, a necklace of your best friend, or a bracelet of the promotion you recently received.

Why give Pear & Peacock? There is no better feeling than giving a gift and waiting in anticipation while they slowly open the box. They look inside and the smile that appears reaches their eyes. I absolutely love giving gifts (it is almost like a hobby for me) and I can rarely wait for that instant when they first see it. Please send me your stories and photos I would love to hear from you!
